Cailyn - 3 Months

I was so excited to see Cailyn again for her 3 month pictures. I love when I get to see the babies grow. I was also so excited to try out my new tutu - that I bought just in time for this session - and I couldn't be happier because Cailyn rocked the tutu! I could write much about how adorable this little sweetie is, but why not just show you!

I think she was winking at me in this one!

And a few family shots...

Thank you again Sara and Kyle. Your daughter is beautiful and I can not say how thankful I am that you allowed me to be a part of your family once again. I can't wait to see her next time. :)

Trisha and Derrick - Engaged

Trisha and Derrick booked me for their wedding a few months ago, but we had only been in contact via email. I was so excited to finally meet the two of them, to put a face with a name. The entire time I was driving to Bloomington to meet them it was raining. But as I pulled into the parking lot, there was no evidence that the rain had hit at the park. The ground was dry. Normally, I am not this lucky, but I will take it every chance I get.

Trisha and Derrick were such a fun couple to photograph. They were open-minded, willing to do whatever. I should have taken even more advantage of their willingness. :) Nonetheless, I enjoyed our time together and was excited with the images I had. I was even more excited after Trisha emailed me after seeing the final result. She told me she was worried because she can be really picky about pictures (aren't all females this way?!?) but that she loved them. Now that is what I LOVE to hear. I love doing what I do, but I love the feeling I get when someone tells me how much they love the images I created for them. You guys rock and I can't wait to photograph your big day. Take a peek at some of the images they loved.

Tricia and Terry - Engaged

Meet my baby sister. I can't believe that she is getting married this year. It's such a surreal experience for me to be a part of her whole wedding process. I am so happy that she found the man that she is going to spend the rest of her life with, and I'm proud to be adding Terry to our already crazy family. The two of them compliment each other so much, it's just awesome to witness and be a part of. So check out a few of my favorites of their session.

Raena Grace - Newborn

Meet Baby Raena! An adorable little cutie - from head to her long, ol' toes. :) She is family - so I knew she was going to be adorable. :) Raena is the first girl for my cousin, Kasi. I got to spend an evening with the family last week and I was told that Raena had been a complete angel since she was born - that was until I arrived. Raena was just a little fussy for the start of our photo session. I softly told her she was going to give me a complex - since everyone kept saying she had been perfect until this night. Now, I'm going to chalk it up to a little baby gas and not because she didn't want to me to take her pictures. :)

After a little snack, she was absolutely perfect. She has the most adorable little butt that she often pushed into the air, making me giggle. She was a little worm - already trying to crawl in the basket I was attempting to photograph her in. But in the end, she stole my heart and even brought me to tears while editing her pictures. The sweet innocence just fills my heart! I love her! See her in all her preciousness below.

I love this pose. I have one of my daughter in the same one, and it is one of my absolute favorites of her!

This is the image that brought tears to my eyes.

Kisses from big brother. How sweet!

She is so mad, but I think it's so cute.

This was the very first image I took - poor baby was so upset, but there is something about the raw emotion that catches me.

Thank you Matt and Kasi for allowing me to be the first to capture Raena in all her beauty. Hopefully I will be seeing her much more and your walls can be covered with my artwork. :)

It's Vacation Time!

Well almost time. We are taking off this Friday for vacation - heading the happiest place on Earth. :)

A week vacation in sunny Florida, with a few days visits to Disney World. If you have read the about me section of my website, (or know me) you know that I spent a semester working as a photography intern for Disney during my college years. My husband also worked as a Marketing intern there during the same time period, so Disney has a special place in our heart. We both met some of our best friends during that experience. Two of Rory's roomies were groomsmen during our wedding, one of my roommates was the photographer of the wedding, and at least 6 of the great friends we met there attended the wedding. Not only did I meet some of my best friends, but I met some of the best photographers I know. Many of us still keep in touch as we are embarking on our photography careers, creating a powerful network of photography knowledge. We come from near and far: Florida, Lousiana, Arkansas, New York, Maryland, Washington, Illinois, Minnesota, South Carolina - just to name a few. Needless to say, that experience was a valuable and fun part of my life, that I still treasure to this day.

So although my experience vacationing is quite different, it's so nice to walk into the doors of Magic Kingdom (or more appropriately Epcot) and relive those special moments of my past life. It also helps that I know some of the 'tricks' on the best spots to take castle pictures, the best times to catch certain characters, and what shows we just have to see. This year I'm taking my husband, my 2 year old daughter, my cousin, her husband, and their 3 1/2 year old daughter. I think this will be a different experience, because we will be experiencing the parks on our daughters' level. We will be hitting every ride and exhibit they can ride and see. But it's okay - because really it's just an excuse for me to ride my favorites without looking like a complete fool (not that it has stopped me before!)

I'm sure I will be sharing many of the moments of our trip - be watching for them!

It's time for a change!

Changes are coming - oh and how excited I am about them! This summer, you will see a new look to Amanda Overmyer Photography. What encompasses the new look is the following:

- New logo - it's already in the works, just hammering out the last details.

- Updated/revised website - a new look coming. I have been keeping busy updating the blog with new work, now it's time to get it organized on the website. :)

- New portrait packages - including the introduction of the "Baby Steps Program."

- New brochures - to coincide with the new logo and new packages.

- Referral program - earn credit for referring me to new clients.

- Gift certificates - and a special sale, "frugal friday" style debuting these gems.

I'm so very excited for these new items, I can barely stand it. There is still work to be done - but it will be so worth it. I will be sure to announce the new additions...until then, the excitement builds!
