Wedding Jumping Pictures - Contest

So throughout this year, I have been putting my bride, grooms, and bridal party against each other in a contest. It's no secret that I love the "jumping" picture of the bridal party. For me, it's a great way to get the bridal party to loosen up and enjoy the moment, and have some fun. Of course, I truly enjoy seeing the expressions on the faces when I start to edit the pictures as well! :)

So at the beginning of this year, I decided to make this jumping picture a contest that I told the entire wedding party about during the photo. I am posting those pictures and have hand selected 6 judges (not me or Jenn ) to choose their top 3 favorite pictures from this year. (I will mention that not all the weddings I photographed this year did the jumping picture - usually due to weather (i.e. soft or muddy ground) or size of the bridal party limitations.) The winner of the best jumping picture will be receiving a large mounted photograph of the winning picture. I have to admit that some of these people can jump!!!!

I am so excited about this that I have been brainstorming next year's wedding contest giveaway.

Sarah and Josh - Married

A question I often get asked is "What would be the perfect wedding to photograph?" Although I have suggestions of what would be awesome, for me, I enjoy the changes, the differences that come with each wedding. Each wedding is a new experience for me and I have favorite moments from each day. Some of my favorite moments from Sarah and Josh's wedding day would have to be, in no particular order: 1) the groom's son, who wanted me to take his picture (alone, with his dad, with Sarah, with his uncle - who can resist someone who wants you to take his picture.) :) 2) watching Sarah and the bridesmaids getting ready. I love to see the interaction and the conversations that take place - and the anticipation of watching Sarah get into her dress - and that look on everyone's face when they see her in her dress for the first time. 3) After the wedding, we were moving quickly to avoid losing all of our sunlight (and because it was COLD) and I talked Josh and Sarah into going into the middle of the street - and I loved it. I loved the pictures and the excitement of doing something "you're not supposed to do." Not to mention that I absolutely adore the pictures that we took outside. 4) Okay - so this one may not be directly related to the bride and groom - but they had the most awesome bbq quesadillas at their reception and I applaud their choice of food. :) (Hey - I'm pregnant and good food is important. :) ) I truly enjoyed being a part of Sarah and Josh's wedding day. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Holly and Michael - Married

I have to say that I loved everything about the wedding of Holly and Michael. An outdoor wedding in the country followed by a reception in a big white tent - maybe it's just the country girl in me, but I absolutely LOVED it. Although the weather channel was calling for storms all day - we all lucked out and had an absolutely beautiful day. The location, the family, the friends, the overall atmosphere was just wonderful. The only thing that could have made this day any better would have been the lack of a flat tire that I got when leaving - but really it just makes for a great story to add to my tales of wedding photographer. :) Have to say that the groom and groomsmen were more than willing to change it for me - just proof of such great people. Enjoy your sneak peek!
