2010 Favorites - Love

So I posted my top 20 favorite photos of children, so of course my next step was to post my favorite 20 photos of Love. I realize that love could encompass so many other genres of photography, since so many of my photos bring that emotion, but this post is mainly weddings and a few engagement photos thrown in there as well. As mentioned in my last post, many of these photos capture a feeling or create a feeling, and to me, that is the importance. Some are pretty - some are posed - and some are just that moment in time. Sharing the love - here are my 20 favorites. (Did I mention how hard it is to narrow down to just 20 photos - well let me say it again, so hard?!?)

2010 Favorites - Children

While updating my website with work from this past year, I was in such awe of how many photos I had the pleasure of taking this year, as well as how much I have grown as a photographer. I could definitely see that my love of photography has taken me more and more towards photographing children and weddings. I have so many favorites from each session, it was a really hard decision to narrow down to just 20 photos, but at last, I have done so. I hope you realize this does not take away from all of the other thousands of photos I have taken, but to choose my top 20 - this is the list that I came away with. And with any art, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some times a photo can capture a feeling or create a feeling, and many of these images do just that for me.

So I know the last one isn't a child - (well yet in this picture) but to me, there is just something so precious about a pregnant belly. (Perhaps because I'm sporting one now, it touches me a little more) but isn't it a cute preggo belly?!? :)

Wedding Jumping Pictures - Contest

So throughout this year, I have been putting my bride, grooms, and bridal party against each other in a contest. It's no secret that I love the "jumping" picture of the bridal party. For me, it's a great way to get the bridal party to loosen up and enjoy the moment, and have some fun. Of course, I truly enjoy seeing the expressions on the faces when I start to edit the pictures as well! :)

So at the beginning of this year, I decided to make this jumping picture a contest that I told the entire wedding party about during the photo. I am posting those pictures and have hand selected 6 judges (not me or Jenn ) to choose their top 3 favorite pictures from this year. (I will mention that not all the weddings I photographed this year did the jumping picture - usually due to weather (i.e. soft or muddy ground) or size of the bridal party limitations.) The winner of the best jumping picture will be receiving a large mounted photograph of the winning picture. I have to admit that some of these people can jump!!!!

I am so excited about this that I have been brainstorming next year's wedding contest giveaway.
